Part I: Concert Review
Aragon Ballroom - Marty Casey and the Lovehammers Review by
Sandy, a fan, Morton Grove, IL, suburb of Chicago
One word sums up Marty Casey and The Lovehammers performance at Friday's Chicago radio station Q101.1 Twisted 12 at the Aragon Ballroom: AWESOME.
Marty Casey and The Lovehammers rocked the Aragon Ballroom by kicking off Chicago's radio station Q101.1 Twisted 12 weekend. Mancow, from Q101.1 Mancow Morning Madhouse morning show had the pleasure of introducing the band as well as tell the crowd what they already know, Marty Casey and The Lovehammers "Rock".
The crowd went ballistic when Marty and Lovehammers came onstage. There were at least 600 to 700 in the crowd. Their hour-long set included all the songs from the Murder on My Mind CD, Trees (non-acoustic), and debut a song from their new album. Unfortunately, I could not quite get the name, however it sounded really good.
During the set, Marty told the crowd from a note given on stage that his brother and wife had a baby girl. A very sweet moment. In addition, he ventured into the crowd at least three different times as well as he told the crowd how much he appreciated their continued support to the Loverhammers and himself. These included but not limited to or in this order: family, fans, Chicago, Mancow, Q101.1, and Aragon. At the end of the set, rather than Marty smashing his guitar, this time it was Dino smashing his. The crowd was so into it.
After their stage performance, Marty and the Lovehammers signed autographs. While I had my Lovehammers MOMM CD signed, I had the pleasure of shaking hands with each one of them telling Marty and the Lovehammers what an awesome job they did tonight. Which I can tell they appreciated very much. Moreover, I sent well wishes to Marty from you, yes fans of martycasey.org, for his message board posting last week. He got up, gave me a hug with a sincere heartfelt smile saying that our support to him and the Lovehammers is very much appreciated. Just being around all four Marty, Billy, Bobby, and Dino, you know their sincerity to us mirrors Marty's message board posting...priceless.
