Marty rehearsing his song choice, "With Arms Wide Open"

For week 4 song selection, Marty opted for a ballad since Dave Navarro and INXS had expressed to him that they wanted to hear a ballad from him. "With Arms Wide Open" by Creed was a perfect choice. This 2001 Grammy winner for Best Rock Song was written by Creed's lead singer Scott Stapp after finding out he was going to be a father. Marty admitted to not being a fan of the song originally but that he had grown to really love it the more he heard it. Dave Navarro agreed that the song wasn't one of his favorites, but that Marty's performance was the best he had seen that song done, ever.
