xsivelyhammered asks:

How many times did you want to kidnap Marty from the mansion this summer?

None, but I wanted to sneak in and enjoy all the amenities all the time! We would sneak in and go swimming while they were asleep.

Explain the process of LH songwriting. Who comes up with the lyrics, melody and music?

Usually someone will come in with an idea, and we'll just go from there. Some ideas are more developed than others, but the great thing about us is that there are no egos, and we trust each other, so everyone's ideas are at least tried. Marty comes up with most of the lyrics. Everyone will help if he gets stuck, but I personally think it is important for the person singing to really be passionate in his delivery and that is easier if they are his own words. Last time we recorded in LA, we actually wrote all the lyrics on a board and worked on them together - seeing if we could make some touch ups. It can be stressful at times, but mostly a lot of fun building these songs.

Are you aware of the many fan bases out there? Kool-aid Commune, Treehuggers, Sisterhood, etc. Have you been lurking in any of the threads online?

Never heard of any of those.

When will we see Lovehammers on TV? Are any talk shows trying to contact you?

We will be doing that as soon as our "team" is built. We are trying to surround ourselves with people that have the same vision as us - from lawyers to managers, to publicists, etc. We are almost complete, so once that is complete we will hit it.

When you are not playing bass for Lovehammers, and answering our questions, what do you do?

I have been trying to keep up with all the other aspects for the band - merch, website, e-mails, etc. Just trying to help out in any way I can. Besides that, I have been working on new songs - not much time for anything else.

What is Lovehammers favorite beer? (or beverage)

I think everyone likes something different. I like Coors Light and Jack Daniels, Bob and Marty drink Amstel Light and Corona. Billy is a Captain and Coke guy.

Would you and the members of your band consider starting a blog that you update regularly? To keep the thousands of new fans updated on your thoughts and goings-on?

We would consider anything. I actually have a diary on our website. It has been hard to keep it updated, but I try. There is also a spot on our Message Board for that called "From the Band" we haven't been able to keep it updated, but hopefully once things slow down a little.

wonder asks:

What are the Lovehammer feelings on the new fan base Marty's appearance has brought the band.

I love it! We have been getting thousands of e-mails and mailing list requests from all over the world. We always knew people would "get it" - it meaning Lovehammers - but we just needed a way to get it out there to everyone. We try to reply to every e-mail that is sent to us - even if it is just a "thank you"

scaryisgood asks:

Do you think Lovehammers fanbase has/will change signifigantly due to Marty's appearances on RS/INXS? I'm curious as to what your fanbase was like previously. Was it mostly a younger crowd? A mix of guys and girls? How would you feel about a possibly drastic change in your fanbase?

I don't think the fanbase has changed too much. We have always had a wide range of fans from 3 - 83. I think that is what has always been so cool. There would be a grandma, mom, and daughter all going to an LH concert. It was always pretty even with guys and girls. It may have started as girls, but once the guys find out about that, they come - LOL. We like to hang out with everyone, so people feel comfortable with us - I think that is a cool thing.

fabiansparkle asks:

Have you given any thought of how you plan to avoid the Geritol spiked punch in the INXS backstage area?

What's Geritol? I guess I will have to spike it myself with extra Jack in order to compensate.

SouthernComfort asks:

Chocolate or vanilla?

Vanilla

What are your indulgences? (G, PG, and R rated answers are acceptable!)

Fast Car, Strip Bars, Rock-n-Roll motherf*cker! At least that is what my dog tags say...

When will the tour with INXS start and how long will it last? Will you tour for just one leg or are you in for a worldwide tour lasting several months?

Not sure.

Which band member is the messiest? Which band member is the neatest?

Depends who you talk to. I think I am the neatest and the rest are all equally messy.

How does it feel to have spent 15 years to become an overnight sensation? Are y'all overwhelmed by the new fan base and the attention you've received?

We had a pretty strong fanbase, but the show really made things explode. I knew it was only a matter of getting a break and that people would get us. We are what bands/music should be - we are real, and people see that, feel that, relate to that. We don't fake shit, which is rare.

Is Marty realizing his popularity not only nationwide, but worldwide?

I don't know. I guess we'll find out when we go overseas.

Swinging Lovehammer CD's are selling well on eBay
Early Swinging Lovehammer CD's are popular on eBay
I've seen CD's of Ultrasound and Demolition on eBay. Will these back catalogue CD's be sold on the LH site or be re-released under a new label?

I don't know. I am trying to get copies of those, but can't afford Ebay prices!

boshmurray asks:

Who came up with the name Lovehammers and is there a story behind that?

I think Bob did. I have heard a few different meanings for it. Used to be Swinging Lovehammers.

hobbit asks:

Why did Lovehammers drop the "Swinging" from their name?

We wanted to get away from the cover band that we started as. That was kind of like us taking a step in our careers. That happened a few years ago, and that is when we started playing major venues in Chicago, NY, LA, and selling them out, and doing all originals. It also made our name much bigger in print, flyers, etc.
