January 4, 2008

"...This is my first time seeing Marty and LH, so I didn't know what to expect. They were awesome!! Marty's energy, dancing, and charisma on stage is so captivating and unique. It's so hard to take your eyes off of him! He seemed almost 'electric' if that makes sense. The rest of the band was great as well, and Matt Hoffer joined them. Towards the end Marty brought Tony La Russa's wife on stage and danced with her. After the show, the band was kind enough to come out and chat/take pics with the fans. That was a real treat!" blueeyz5 (posted on MartyCasey.org messageboard)

December 31, 2007

"...The show was AMAZING. I loved all the moves Marty made on stage, more robotic than usual and loved when he put his tie back on after he stripped his shirt off. He's such an amazing performer and really knows how to draw you in and capture your attention throughout the show. You could tell he was itching to jump off stage into the crowd but they had gate few feet away from the stage. However he climbed the speaker and stood on top of it and sang. He looked larger than life up there... Billy was on FIRE and glad he showed that off. And what can we say about Bobby that hasn't been said before Dino was having so much fun and all smiles. He really shocked me when he smashed his bass, but that was so rock n roll.....loved it. What a way to end the show, Dino! It was nice to see Matt play with them again too; he is a great addition to the band, hope we get to see him at more gigs. It was great to see the boys hanging out with everyone and take the time to chat/pics etc....I'm glad I got to ring in 2008 w/my hammer friends and the boys! Can't wait to do it again for 2009!" Marty Casey Solo Acoustic Tour Marty Casey Solo Acoustic tour
December 5 - 25, 2007

"There are going to be a bunch of these Marty Casey Solo Acoustic shows coming through. This little solo run will start the first weekend in December and go for just under two weeks. I will be playing a 60 minute set. Just me and my guitar. I am concentrating on playing some of songs I did on Rockstar: INXS, some of the Marty Casey & Lovehammers material and whatever else I feel like throwing in. There is going to be alot of crowd interaction and talking about the songs and my experiences over the past two years. I wanted to get into some smaller markets and get this type of show together...I've never been nervous about performing but solo acoustic is a vulnerable as you can get. It's gonna be a trip." Marty Casey (in an email sent when he first announced the tour).

Marty Casey and Lovehammers at Acoustic Chicago, Joe's Marty Casey and Lovehammers at Acoustic Chicago Release Party
November 21, 2007
Location: Joe's Sports Bar, Chicago, IL

"What a night! Every performer that was there was fantastic! I am now a fan of many other artists...Lovehammers tore it up!!!! ...I will tell you that Matt Hoffer played with them for everything but Driving Blind. The first two songs they were accompanied by Howard Levy on harmonica. The first song was planned, but Marty enjoyed it so much, he asked Howard to play the next song, too...Ben Kelly came out and played Throw My Head with them. The models from the fashion segment also came out and had a "Fashion Rocks" moment...Of course they did Trees. They played for 2 hours...As always, this was the best show ever! I don't know how each one always out does the last, but it does. So worth the quick trip!!!" kbgirlref (posted on MartyCasey.org Message Board)

Marty Casey and Lovehammers at Healing Homes Charity Marty Casey and Lovehammers at White Sox Game Healing Homes Foundation Charity Benefit
September 29, 2007
Location: U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago, IL

"Riddle...Hold On...Trees...That's it. No microphones, no sound system, just us playing acoustics and me shouting at the top of my lungs. It's hard to sing that loud. Imagine shouting for 10 minutes straight. My jaw actually hurt from the resonations. Ow, that's another good band name... The Resonations. Well, maybe if it was the 1960's. Immediately following our short set, Enrico Palatzo sang the National Anthem and then the White Sox pulled out a win in the bottom of the 9th. Good Stuff! Then we watched the fireworks display from about 100 feet away from the launch pad. We were covered in smoke and debris but it was amazing. I don't think we were supposed to be in that area but it was really cool to have the shells burst right above your head. The smoke was a bit consuming as I burped and a silver and gold explosion appeared before my eyes. Maybe those were the Cuervo Gold Tequila Margaritas that Dino was serving up. It was a good time nonetheless. A special thanks to those that attended the charity events last weekend. Saturday raised thousands for Healing Homes and Sunday raised $25,000 for Suicide Prevention." Marty Casey at Northalstead Market Days Marty Casey and Lovehammers at Northalsted Market Days
August 11, 2007
Location: Chicago IL

"The Lovehammers came out about 6:50...I loved when they sang Clouds. Marty decided to climb up the 3 decker speakers and just sit up there and tell us all about his friends, and the train that went 'Chugging along' that was interesting. There was a moment during Clouds where Marty sang the end of the verse loud and his face showed sadness, it was a cool moment. During Trees we all held up our posters (make rock not war), and all sang along, then Marty brought out all of his nieces, and they got to sing along with Trees. Ha ha, yeah and in Let's get wasted, we were taught how to sing along with it, "We write songs for the thinkers." I loved the Energy on This Town, it's one of my favorite songs, and if I remember right that's the song we had the screaming contest to, and our side totally won! There where some great moments, where Marty would go all out in the mad conductor, and just rock out, while Billy shredded on his guitar! Marty also got to jump down and run to the back of the crowd, to get them pumped up, all the while, while Billy took center stage, and gave us all a huge face melter! Amazing!...Someone threw an empty beer container on stage, and Billy proceeded to put it on his head and keep it on while playing! And he did! After the show, all LH came out and signed, but it as a huge mass of people...there were so many people there .A fantastic show, I wish i could go do it al again now! It was just pure happiness, standing in front of the stage, surrounded by the people that understand you! All our fists in Unison!" willev7

July 29, 2007
Location: Monterey Summer of Love Festival 2007, Monterey, CA

"It was great to see Ty again. Storm really belted out her songs. Jordis looked like she lost a whole lot of weight, but when she started to sing was as great as ever. Dilana rocked as usual. Then Marty came on and rocked our socks off. I have to say the House Band was better than most of the bands that performed that day. I sure hope they stay together and create their own band." "Imagine seeing LH playing a small private room for an hour & half+ and taking requests...well those who attended the Stonecutters concert last night don't need to "imagine" it. The place looked very cool, not too crowded at all plus great food and drinks for free (buffet style). That was great to see so many familiar faces and meet new fans!" iwomusic

Marty Casey with Rock Star House Band at Canada Day Marty Casey with Rock Star House Band & Alumni
June 30 & July 1, 2007
Location: Fort Erie, Ontario (Friendship Festival) & Downsview Park, Toronto, Ontario (Rock the Park on Canada Day)

"While they crowd was stoked to see all the Rockstars AND, the Houseband, the biggest cheers were for Marty, who was last to go on, after Suzie, Ty, Storm and Dilana.

It was a short set (4 songs), but Marty was very intense and focused and was particularly serious with the introduction to Wish You Were Here, inviting the crowd to close there eyes and think about someone they wished was with them. It was a very touching and heartfelt moment.

And I should mention that he honoured the Canada Day crowd by carrying in a large Canadian flag. Very cool!" Denise Lafferty

Marty Casey Shiner Beer Show at Joe's Marty Casey and Lovehammers At Joe's Shiner Beer Show
May 21, 2007
Location: Chicago, IL

"The Shiner Beer Event at Joe's was a blast! Many Lovehammer fans managed to get tickets to this private event. The crowd seemed very laid back, yet still full of energy. The band put on an incredible 60 minute set, which was much like Hammercruise, and included many older songs like Undertow, Starlight Lady and Counterfeit." Rachel Y.

"Hammercruise was my first show ever. It was amazing...just...amazing, thrilling overwhelming, outrageous and utterly wonderful. It may have been an acoustic show...but I felt totally electrified by the power and passion of the performances and getting to hear some new songs...what a treat! Being part of the audience...being with other Hammerheads was magical too. Y'all rock!" Palari

"The energy of the show was as intense as usual, and I wasn't disappointed...On another note, I heard a crowd of people talking after the show, saying that they were really impressed with 'that Marty Casey and the Lovehammers band. He has a stage presence that rivals Jim Morrison.' My husband's friends went with us, too, and they also really enjoyed the show. They're pretty much 99% converted! Score!" Chanvre

Marty Casey Performs New Years Eve in Chicago Marty Casey and Lovehammers New Year's Rock 'N' Roll Ball
December 31, 2006
Location: Chicago, Illinois

"Let me just say--the concert was amazing. They had so much stage to use and they really made good use of it. The lead singer of Collective Soul said that the LH's rocked and were fun! I think he really meant it--rather than the polite comment that bands sometimes make about their opening acts. (I know they rocked and were fun--but it's great when they get acknowledged by their peers!) It's too hard to put into words the experience of the concert--it's a kaleidoscope of images and feelings in your body. But they never let us down--what a great way to ring in 2007!" cjspas

Marty Casey as part of the Rock Star Party, Toronto Marty Casey performs at Jeff Healey's Roadhouse for Rockstar Party, with Sean Cotton Band, December 16, 2006
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

"Although the other performers were well received, you could feel a shift in the energy level as soon as Marty took the stage. His first mini-set was the one of the most energetic and electric I've ever seen. He was more controlled the next set, chatting with the audience and really making a connection with the fans. While it was billed as a "Rockstar Party", there is no doubt that the true Rockstar at the Party was Marty Casey." Denise Lafferty

Marty Casey at NIU vs. Toledo Tailgate Party NIU v. Toldeo Football Game, November 7, 2006
Location: NIU, DeKalb, IL

"The guys played for a little over an hour, and it was a very high-energy, fun show....The tent was pretty good sized, and was about half full when they started, but as soon as they started playing, more and more people kept coming in to check them out. The stage was fairly small, so Marty was all over it, moving really fast. He was in a playful mood, and interacted with the audience a lot." NancyBBE

Marty Casey at Hammerjam 2006 HammerJam, October 14, 2006
Location: Metro, Chicago, IL

"Towards the end of Bulletholes, Marty comes to the very edge of the stage, balancing on that invisible barrier between performer and audience and he sings quietly "I wanna die for you...for you...for you..." The band plays on and Marty stands there, slowly nodding his head with the music and looks out at all of us...FOR A VERY LONG TIME. My eyes welled up with tears as the energy in the room became palpable, everyone in the room realizing that THIS IS an experience of our true connected nature. We were all there, even those hammerheads that couldn't be there in physical form were there in that moment. The unity we have through this music burns away our differences and illuminates the possibilities that appear when we get our egos out of the way and let the muses do their work..." Shuckra

"I'll say the same thing I said six months ago after Mohegan Sun ... Marty is IT. I've been to a lot of concerts over the years, and I've never seen anyone take total command of the stage and the audience the way he does." Wendy C.

"With a venue that size, you can see his face, his expressions, and you can sense the power and energy in his body as he prances, floats, conducts, stalks, crouches, points, and surveys the room...and us...what a man, what a passionate talent he has." Lisa Faith

Location: Los Angeles, CA

"I can be uncomfortably shy in social situations and EVERY single concert I've been to, no matter how I love the artist, I'm usually just chilling in the back, not really singing or dancing or anything, while I'm chugging cocktails and beer. But when the guys perform, they completely bust me out of my shell in such a "not me" sort of way. The adrenaline rush that I get is unbelievable, and like nothing I've ever experienced. It's mesmerizing and intense and heart-stopping all at once. Like an amazing drug or something." chanvre

Marty Casey at Summerfest 2006 Summerfest, July 8, 2006
Location: Milwaukee, WI

"The show was incredible. I just can't get over what a powerful performer Marty is. He just has the whole crowd in the palm of his hand the whole time...it's such a talent. There were a ton of people there to see Seether (who went on right after LH) and so many of them were rocking out to LHs. The kid next to me had never seen them before, but he was all arms up in the air, dancing, and woohooing the whole time LH's were on stage. They have it. They just have it." penny74
